Services We Provide in UK

Groundwater & Hydrogeology

Groundwater is an important natural resource which provides benefits to the public, industry and agriculture through water supply. Additionally, groundwater plays an essential role in the environment by supporting flows in rivers and water levels in wetlands.

Golder Associates has extensive groundwater services capability that we use on projects to provide clean and cost effective water supplies to our clients; to control groundwater where it forms an obstacle to below ground engineering or mining works; to assess its vulnerability to development; and to remediate polluted groundwater for redevelopment of brownfield sites.

In the UK, Europe and across the world, we have a team of hydrogeologists and groundwater engineers experienced in a diverse range of projects from small and large scale dewatering systems, through brownfield investigation and remediation projects to environmental impact assessments for major mining projects.

Our hydrogeologists and groundwater engineers are supported by specialists in related disciplines such as hydrology, geochemistry, water treatment, ecology, civil and geotechnical engineering, landscape architecture and environmental impact assessment.

Our key hydrogeological services include the following:

  • Desk Studies;
  • Site Investigations and Monitoring;
  • Groundwater Modelling;
  • Groundwater Control and Dewatering;
  • Groundwater Remediation;
  • Environmental Impact Assessment;
  • Environmental Permitting and Licensing;
  • Hydrogeological Risk Assessment;
  • Groundwater Supply; and
  • Geothermal Systems.
